Just FYI: at first glance this PR may look like it has more changes than it functionally does, because many of the differences come from simply reorganizing the code so that related lines are grouped together. These changes are not intended to impact the look of the pdf at all, just to make it easier for us to understand and edit this template in the future by making the file more human-readable.
