Reconcile differences between visc_empty and visc_report skeleton.Rmd files #203

Currently there are some differences between the visc_empty and visc_report skeleton.Rmd files. Need to make these consistent, and ideally simplify the visc_empty skeleton.Rmd as much as possible to prevent future issues where these two files diverge.
