In order to drive the genome alignment plot entirely from the search string, we need to update the genome alignment details table so that the user action of clicking on a row (to select a gene of interest to focus on) will use a hyperlink to update the search string with the selected gene of interest.
This will have the advantage of also adding the gene selection into the bookmarking and history functionality.
