We discussed that if we do do this, easiest thing to do would be to have a button somewhere where a user could turn it on, rather than having to track user state (e..g., only show for new users, go away after a certain amount of time, etc. ) as we don't have that infra set up

Really love this idea! The GUI update would be a good opportunity to add this in, putting as v1.2 for now, but very open to pushing it to v1.3 if we feel that's too quick.
