As it seems to be a codec issue I would start by looking at your ffmpeg version. Are you using standard RaspiOS ? If not you'll probably need to custom compile a working version. I have a script that worked for this but its been a while since I tested it and it might be outdated now.

I know you're not working on Chiaki anymore, but when trying to use the current repo on the new rasberry pi 5, the display wouldn't work. In this I get the following error message:
[h264_v4l2m2m @ 0x55564265a9f0] Could not find valid device [h264_v4l2m2m @ 0x55564265a9f0] can't configure decoder Could not open codec Requesting codec: h264
If you could point me in the right direction to solve this problem, I would really appreciate it.
