Can start xfce and firefox #133

Hello, I am relatively new to Freebsd, after installing FreeBSD-base-graphics, I cannot start Xfce or firefox When I do startxfce4 from the command shell; fatal error no screen found please check the log /var/log/Xorg for additional information Server terminated with error (1) . Closing log file xinit: giving up xinit: unable to connect to X server: Connection refused server error When I do firefox : Error: GDK_BACKEDN does not match available display I am using ASUS; Model ux305C Notebook PC

Do you have the i915kms kernel module loaded?

Yes I do. I just installed the latest version of TrueOS today, is it the same as what you have on this branch ? I downloaded the repository as a zip file and will follow the instructions in the Makefile to see if it will work. But if it is the same as Trueos http://download.trueos.org/master/amd64/TrueOS-Desktop-2017-03-31-x64-USB.img then I need not to buildworld, buildkernel and install

There are several branches here (drm-next-4.7, drm-next…). I think TrueOS includes the 4.7 one? Not sure really.

What does dmesg show?

I'm not familiar with the Skylake GPU but it seems like this only affects power management? I'm not sure if it's needed for Xorg.
