First feature is to sink ships once they have been repaired 3 times. https://sourceforge.net/p/freecol/improvement-requests/211/. The second feature is to reveal the map once the player has retired.

There seems to be a bunch of extra stuff in these commits, which are not currently mergeable.

• The ship repair idea is a good one, but please follow standard Java variable naming conventions
• I am unclear why the declaration panel needs to be closed after 1 minute, as it already closes after 5s. Is this not working for you?
• Revealing the map on retiring is also a nice enhancement, but that will need to be done on the server side to work properly, where we already have a routine (exploreMap) to do this

I recommend discussing these ideas further on the freecol-developer mailing list if you wish to continue with them. Closing for now, with apologies for being very slow to review this.
