Hmm what about all 4 options divided over 1 thumbnail?
I am not sure I understand the question.
The thumbnail preference settings has 4 options. We could maybe opt for a thumbnail that is divided in 4 sections so u have the all the thumbnail options visible in one thumbnail

That's what I said in Proposed Solution. It's the simplest one as far as implementation is concerned.
Hi @aleksejrs there is a project called DeArrow that replace titles and thumbnails with user-submitted titles and thumbnails to combat click bait and provide the user more info about the content of the video. Do you think that could solve your issue?
Just came across DeArrow, was looking up if there was an issue open about it. I think integrating it into Freetube will be good way to show better thumbnails and titles and solve this issue in a much better way as well.
DeArrow has little relevance to this issue, because it only shows one thumbnail. The issue is that a single thumbnail is not always enough, even if most people think it is the best single thumbnail.
One thumbnail is good for a single-subject instruction or documentary video, but not for a music video (where it is subjective) or a multi-video concatenation (e.g., of music videos) or something like a multi-subject news report, and it is unlikely to do much about a slideshow.

Problem Description
There is "Thumnail Preference": Default / Beginning / Middle / End. Sometimes, only one of them is not enough for me to decide what the video is and if it contains what I am looking for, e.g., if there are repeating scenes or a slideshow.
Proposed Solution
Show all four thumbnails as a grid.
