Player Settings -> Display Play Button in Video Player
Guidelines
Problem Description
After the latest update there's now a huge play button that appears every time you pause the video and/or rewind/forward it and it takes 3-4 seconds to disappear if playing in fullscreen and rewinding/fast forwarding if doing so before the button has faded completely when unpausing especially if the cursor is still inside the video frame. It's inconsistent in this behavior though as the play button only appears if rewinding/fast forwarding when the button hasn't faded away or if the video hasn't finished buffering at whichever point in the video you're currently at and it only stops appearing if you rewind/forward with the arrow keys instead of using the mouse on the play bar because of how it detects the cursor.
Proposed Solution
I would like the play button to consistently fade in a split second and not have it appear/stay on screen every time you hover the cursor over the video or rewind/fast forward and pause/unpause and to also not be as huge. I want it back to how it was before or just copy the actual Youtube player where the button fades quickly and is small and unassuming. It is very big and very distracting now. It should fade even when the video is paused like it does on Youtube instead of staying in place permanently until play is resumed.
Alternatives Considered
Actually I would like the option to just make it not appear at all to also make it easier to take a screenshot or at the very least make it appear smaller. More options are always good.
Or as I said above why not copy the aesthetics of the actual Youtube player with its small play button that doesn't appear everytime you rewind or fast forward?
