Malware? #1194

Have had this from Glen (WLS)...

When I sign into FreeREG I get a pop-up of the following:-

Do you want to open or save ac.js from static-tagr.gd1.mookie1.com

I have had Norton look at my computer and they have cleared anything here. It only happens on signing in or working in FreeREG and no other site.

They have suggested I contact you as they suspect the malware is based with you.

It does not happen to me.

Advice for Glen please.

I have just tried to Log on to FR, Completely normal and successful. -No messages from my ISP nor my own security. ( Im on iMac and my ISP is Plusnet.)

And logon was even faster than of late - have we put the revised structure into service on FR then?

I do not believe there are any malware issues for FreeREG

An infected computer is extremely tough to clean.

It could be from an ad which is why he sees it and no one else does. Ads are selected based on what the user has been interested in and his/her browsing history.

I agree with Kirk, the malware is probably coming from an advert. This is a known issue (as a quick google search shows). If possible, can Glen take a screenshot of the advert (s) which show when this happens? I can then raise the issue with Google.

We haven't got the revised structure in place, but we (well, Lemon) has swapped out a defective disk in Saki.

Lemon will be doing his bit on the shard system next week (i.e. starting tomorrow) and Kirk has been working on it and will need a few more weeks before it's all in place.
