Do we need to call for / sign up photographers?

E 0, urgency 3, stratgic 6, cost 6 = P15

What for? When going to Records Offices, it is now possible in most to use the digital viewers and put copies directly onto a memory stick. So just pushing a button is all that is needed. But if it is photographing original registers at Churches, and permission has been obtained to transcribe them, then a little photographic knowledge is a good thing. In all cases the main problem is permission not photography, which is just time consuming.

i will need to do bit of research before I comment on this one.

To clarify: this is where we need someone to take a photograph or make a scan of an original document (e.g. photograph a register in a non-conformist church, or scan the burial register of a commercial graveyard). If this is done through a general call for, we can put in place a pathway which will include insuring that the volunteer has the handbook, and signs the Photography Agreement (licencing us to use the images they produce - we don't believe that any rights exist in them, but the law might change in this area, and we don't want to have to track people down later). On the other hand, if it's very rare, and done on a case-by-case basis, then it will be up to the recruiter to ensure that this is done.

We need to limit photography/scanning to those records where no image has been made yet, and try and get access to the existing images. Therefore up to the person managing the photographer/scanner.

I do not see any development activity associated with this

PatReynolds commented 5 years ago

No development activity, @Captainkirkdawson just management.
