Add RSpec Tests to code base #1391

Priority (0 6 2 2) 10

Ben is great at rspec driven coding. I never took to it and neither did Doug.

Hence most components of our code do not have rspec tests which makes automated testing impossible; it also makers software upgrading more difficult.

It would be useful to have new developers use rspec coding

Hence could we not assign new developers one or more models to develop rspecs for them as their first project?

Hi! I am Abhipsha, and with my teammate Sumera I was planning to work on the less difficult issues over the summers under Rails Girls SoC. We are both newbies to open source, with some experience in front end development. I found this issue and was wondering if you could tell us the status of this, if it is done or needs bug-fixes, etc. Thanks. Cheers!

Didn't realise there was an old story on this already so I'm picking this one up as something to work through - have been working on getting Model specs running again.

Required by #788 (automating RSpec tests with TravisCI)

Have created a #testing channel in slack for discussion on RSpec etc.
