Transcribers are not taking action on Files processed with errors #875

Open edickens opened 8 years ago

edickens commented 8 years ago

These last few days the same file has been uploaded with Place and Church errors. After investigation it seems that the transcriber does not look at the confirmation message because it just says for example: DocMgr/WRYAATSTBA490.csv was processed by FreeReg at 2016-07-11 14:37:18 +0100 It seems that transcribers are looking at the subject and not the message and have assumed that the file has been processed error free. The subject line needs changing to add "with 0 errors" or with as many as there are. Even just "with errors" or "without errors" would be better.

URGENT Please - If it is the last upload of a file, and it is totally rejected, it is not being uploaded again. We are losing data.

Sherlock21 commented 8 years ago

1) Is this the occasion whenI did not get the said email ( reported else where)?

2) There is already a job for saving all uploaded but rejected files. K had it in hand as one of my comments from the last set of Testing - so that they can be resurrected.

Is this still an issue?

Sherlock21 commented 6 years ago

The original request, i.e. to add into the email the count of how many errors there were, would be helpful. For example: I could then decide whether to intervene or not. so presumably so could the CC if they are of a mind. Of those I have followed up, some have been corrected, some have not. But the ones corrected by the CC or the Transcriber, don't drop out of the list of Not Processed files - so it takes me to have a clear out from time to time - if the subsequent successful uploading of a copy of the same file, at a date after the Reject, could remove the same Rejected name file form the Not Uploaded list, that would save me effort

is this not simply an SC management responsility

SteveBiggs commented 6 years ago

It is a SC management issue, but unfortunately, not all SC's are picking these up and having EricB as a back-up to catch them is very useful and anything that makes his job easier is welcome.
