TX Power Limit Changed #43

Hello again!

I am having an issue that may or may not be caused by this driver. None the less, I thought I would start asking here.

When I posted on an issue here recently, I was achieving a TX Power of 33 (as seen in my post here: https://github.com/FreedomBen/rtl8188ce-linux-driver/issues/40#issuecomment-52279186). For some reason (after installing this driver in the same manner on the same machine), I am achieving a TX Power setting of 27. The single difference between these two instances is that I am now using the 3.16.1-031601-generic kernel instead of the LM17 default kernel.

I used the commands listed in the README file to try to set the power higher, but it did nothing. No errors, just no results... I set the location to Bolivia and then attempted to set the TX to 33 and then 30. It is maxing out at 27...

Oddly enough, I don't remember having to use those special commands to get to TX Power 33 last time. I believe that power level was obtained by simply installing the driver...

Any ideas on why the sudden change in max TX Power, and what I can do to get back to 33?

Thanks! Derek

Hey Derek, sorry for the delayed response. That is really strange. Did you install the generic-3.16.x branch?

Which kernel package are you using? Is that a Mint provided package or did you build your own?
