Currently a 1vs1 match versus someone noobish takes about 40 minutes, that's a typical 5vs5 moba match. I think the unit health spectrum should be less wide in order to make the units more squishy and make the game faster, increasing the chances of successfully ending matches regarding technological variables (playing on an unplugged tablet), type schedules (so many times hearing a playing having to leave in a moba match), psychology wise (not boring the players, offering win incentive faster, not causing a long match that was lost to feel like a huge waste of time and such), while also increasing the feasibility of 2vs2 matches, which theoretically could last about 2-3 hours (haven't played any so far, it's just a guess).

Ancient Summoner player vs player matches usually last between 1 to 10 minutes from my experience, somewhat short. I've also investigated chess (which is not really my cup of tea), but according to Wikipedia "Playing time: Casual games usually last 10 to 60 minutes; tournament games last anywhere from about ten minutes (blitz chess) to six hours or more."
