Make sure that Plex has the permission and ownership of the MyAnimeList Metadata Agent folder and all the nested files and folders in it.

I would also recommend looking into the Plex Media Server logs to see if there is an error happening which might be more descriptive than what the UI is telling you.

Thanks but those are the agent logs, I would need to look in the Plex media server.log

Logs don't say anything of value. A few things though. Take a look at #2 which is the same issue as this, maybe the responses can help.

I have seen a few reports about this, in the forum here and here and also in #2.

IIRC I could reproduce the problem by setting the permissions incorrectly on the folder which lead to the same behaviour. So my money would be on incorrect permissions/ownership.

You do have the folder on 777 which I would imagine is also recursively applied (?!). However, in my opinion, this is a very lazy approach and not such a good idea.

I would suggest you check the other files in the Plex config folder and see what permissions and ownership they have and adjust the metadata agent and all files in it the same way.
