Doesn't always return the exact match when one is available

To reproduce:

• 6+ users with similar usernames - ie 'example', 'example1', 'example2', 'example3', etc

Let's say I want to start a PD with 'example', so I type that into the search. I'll be returned 'example1', 'example2', and so on, but not the exact match.
