Segmentation fault on Kubuntu 11.10 64-bit with VLC 1.1.12 #84

I installed sopcast-player from ppa:jason-scheunemann/ppa on Kubuntu 11.10 
64-bit with VLC 1.1.12.
When I try to start "sopcast-player" I get Segmentation fault. 
After a bit of digging in the source, I found out that commenting the line 
"import vlc_1_0_x" in VLCWidget.py fixes the problem, and sopcast-payer starts 
& works OK.
