I think this could be an awesome exercise into defining good types and reducing the complexity of the module overall. This is a very low-priority thing though.
We have my.system.persist and my.users..persist that accomplish the same thing, arguably even better because they ensure permissions stay in sync always, something nix-community/impermanence never did.
