I and MANY others can verify this problem. It has to do with the way HBC is
running
Wii64. Beta 1 is not compatible with the latest HBC thus you receive a "An error
occurred" message. To fix you have 2 options:
1) Wait for the Wii64 team to release a fix.
2) Boot LoadMii from HBC then select Wii64 and boot using that method. (Known
to run
games at 4-25fps)

This has to do with the fact that you either have a whole bunch of cIOS junk
installed, or you're running sysmenu 4.2 with no older, sane, IOS.
Wii64 Beta 1 was compiled with a version of libOGC which will look for a sane
IOS on
bootup, but for some, like you two, it'll either pick a stub, or an IOS that is
not
supported.
The next version will be compiled with newer libOGC which does not re-load
another
IOS but rather it will use what the hbc was using before it.

Actually, its a user error. Wii64 is running perfectly right now with no
faults.
I was under the impression roms & saves go under:
SD:/Apps/wii64/roms
SD:/Apps/wii64/saves
While they really go under:
SD:/wii64/roms
SD:/wii64/saves
When you download the beta 1 from the Googe Code site, you get 2 folders. An
apps and
a wii64 folder. Copy both into the root of your SD card. places roms and saves
in
their correct locations listed above.
Sorry for the confusion. You're doing a great on job on this emulator. Thank
you very
much. Played Mario Kart 64 for like an hour (:.

DVDx V2 is a little buggy it seems, that is the issue.

Worst emulator i've ever seen. I get the error msg: Error opening directory
sd/wii64/roms every fucking time! Tried on different Wiis, different Versions,
different CIOS, different Wii64 version. Everytime it says Error opening
directory.
And YES, the roms are in the directory sd\wii64\roms.
Fucking bad program.

I am having the same problem as r.gross111, when I select Load ROM, it says
Error opening directory sd:/wii64/roms. I've checked from time to time whether
I put the roms in the right place, and they are. Any help?

@r.gross111, wow, talk about immature remarks. "Worst emulator I've ever seen"
and
"$#@%#*& bad program"..? Now that's uncalled for, as you're the only one who
seems to be having this error. I'm using an 8GB SDHC card and the only issue
I've had is with TWO incompatible games. TWO. Super Mario 64? Runs perfectly.
Star Fox 64? Runs perfectly. The authors went through, and still are. going
through hours and hours of hard work optimizing Wii64 to get it where it is
today. It doesn't run? Gee, looks like it runs fine to me:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZN-Gp1hrYM4&feature=channel It's on your end,
and not Wii64's fault. Either you have a crappy generic brand SD card or you
need to format it with either the FAT16 or exFAT file system. I'd like to see
you do a better job porting an emulator that runs on a x86 CPU (PC)
architecture to run on hardware with a PowerPC (Wii) architecture. Yeah, that's
what I thought. Either format your SD card and start from scratch, then set up
the right folder structure, or stop your bloody whining. It's people like you
that make authors want to abandon their emulator projects.

I know this topic is old but for r.gross or anyone else bitching about this...
I had exactly the same problem. EXACTLY. Turns out my SD card was formatted in
EXT. I formatted it in Fat16 and everything worked perfectly. Thank you. The 64
emulator on my PC didn't work as good as this one, the linux version wasn't
much better either.
Now I can play on my TV set with controllers.
