Bugfix: Savestates not working optimally #218

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Load up Banjo-Kazooie and go into a level (doesn't matter which one)
2. Save state
3. Exit game, turn off Wii, relaunch Wii, Wii64, reload BK, reload save state

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Game continuing from the saved state. Game crashes

What version of the product are you using? On which system and loader?
Wii64 beta 1.1

Please provide any additional information below.
It's funny because the different places I've tried reloading the state
comes with different results:
load savestate directly after launching Wii64 (and loading the ROM in
Wii64): full crash, black screen
load savestate after firing up the ROM in Wii64: initial screen from saved
state gets loaded, after that: full crash
load savestate after going into level the state was saved in: fully works

I've tested this using the (US) version of Banjo-Kazooie, using an SD card
to store the saves and the rom.

Save states are like this. It's possibly due to the dynarec code, or the ROM
cache.

By the way, it's now working in 1.1.1. I loaded the ROM, hit play game, went
back to main screen, then loaded the desired state. Like magic it worked.
