XB command ideas

A few ideas for new RatSqueak facts to help with a XB Rescue:

• A fact that explains the NAT check to open
• A fact that explains the check of Privacy Settings to Adult
• A fact that explains the XB Power Cycle

I understand the X-Rats have the luxury of the XBL Party, but now all clients come into the Party

If you could type out what exactly you want these facts to say, i will add them appropriately in english and german. Any translations you can provide are appreciated.

!XNAT - "Double Tap XBOX button , press down on d-pad 5 times, and choose "All settings". Choose "Network" then "Network Settings" - Please confirm that "NAT Type:" is open.

!XPRIV - "Double Tap XBOX button, press up on d-pad, select your Xbox profile, and choose "My Profile". Check that you see "Appear offline", then go to Privacy Settings". Ensure Privacy settings are set to Adult default"

!XPC (or !XPOWER) - "Hold XBOX button, then choose "Turn console off". After Xbox finishes shutting down, pull the power cable from the back, leave it out for 10 seconds, then plug in and turn on"

Unfortunately, that option for an Xbox power command is too simple, due to the Xbox One's power modes. In quick-start mode, it only goes into "connected standby" when you turn the console "off." Basically all it does is turn off the graphics card. It still downloads and installs updates when in that mode, as well as defragmenting the hard drive and doing numerous other data synchronization tasks. Pulling the plug without switching the console to power-saving mode before shutting down is a bad idea. Similarly, forcing a hard shutdown by holding the power button is nearly as bad, as it similarly interrupts things like background defragmentation and installation. Xbox consoles (at least from 360 onwards, I have no experience with the original) are very prone to data corruption issues due to the number of tasks they execute in the background.

Bit late to the party but I was just poking around and saw this. the !xpower command could be tweaked to say:

Turn off the Xbox One console by pressing the Xbox button on the front of the console for about 10 seconds until it shuts down completely. Unplug the console's power cable. Wait 10 seconds. Plug the console power cable back in. Press the Xbox button on your console to turn on the Xbox One.
