Before opening an issue, please check the existing open issues to see if somebody has already reported it! If something is horribly wrong, like all videos showing up in a single column, chances are somebody already reported it. Please reply in that issue instead.

Describe what is broken A clear and concise description of what isn't working. When Enabling Grid View Only One Person Can Be Seen

Expected behavior A clear and concise description of what you expected to happen. That it would show everyone on one screen i have been using this plugin for a time now

Software used:

Additional context for a second it shows everyone on top of each other like the issue just before this one and then it shows only my screen and the meeting is being recorded so it could be because of that

Similar issue. Had to sadly disable it because I couldn't see anyone else in the meeting. Can you please resolve this soon? I have a class that I would have to take for the next three hours.

devv2006 commented 4 years ago

same with me

brianjohnsen commented 4 years ago

I have the exact same issue.

OS: Ubuntu Linux 20.04 Browser: Chrome Version: 1.37.0

RiZKiT commented 4 years ago

Happens for me if "Automatic" mode is enabled in Google Meet, in other view modes I have the issue of https://github.com/Fugiman/google-meet-grid-view/issues/242

RagdollyAnnas commented 4 years ago

I also have the same issue. I used it fine up until last week and since then I can only see one person if the extension is enabled. If I disable it then I can see other participants but my picture is too small so not suitable for using when running a class. Would be great to have either the extension fixed or for Google to have an in app solution.

machi2113 commented 4 years ago

Same to me. I can only see myself. It´s broken again....

vala84no commented 4 years ago

I've submitted a PR for a fix I did locally to get around the issue. https://github.com/Fugiman/google-meet-grid-view/pull/250

If you want to see if it works for you, I suggest loading google-meet-grid-view through TamperMonkey (or similar) and make the same modification that I've done there.

It's not perfect; I've not delved in to why that function is missing, but it did work nicely for me on 3 separate computers, so I hope it can help a few more people.

stella12-hue commented 4 years ago

Hi, I have installed the tampermonkey addon in firefox. Could you tell me what the next step is? @thor84no I am very basic with computer and really need the grid view for class.

vala84no commented 4 years ago

@stella12-hue

  1. Disable the google-meet-grid-view extension (you can do this by going to manage extensions and click the slider in the bottom right so it's off).
  2. Go to https://greasyfork.org/en/scripts/397862-google-meet-grid-view and click install script.
  3. You can now find the script in TamperMonkey options and edit it (there's an edit button on the right). Or you can find it in the drop-down menu from the TamperMonkey extension button while on meet.google.com (there's a plus symbol next to the script, click that, then edit).
  4. Apply the same change that I've done in that PR (https://github.com/Fugiman/google-meet-grid-view/pull/250/files): scroll down to the line that was replaced (on the left side of that page) 1361 and replace it with the line on the right.
  5. Save the script and refresh Google Meet.

Seems to be a Chrome bug related to treating Source Map libraries. More info at https://github.com/storybookjs/storybook/issues/10469

This does get grid to load, however the ability to pin is inoperative, clicking the thumbtack to pin does nothing.

vala84no commented 4 years ago

Yeah, that doesn't surprise me. It was a quick and dirty hack to stop it crashing. I didn't have time to track down a replacement for the broken functionality.

stella12-hue commented 4 years ago

Oh yay, I fixed it! Thanks a ton @thor84no

jamilatta commented 4 years ago

Its fixed to me.

anubhavas commented 4 years ago

Thanks so much @thor84no for finding this brilliant code fix this annoying problem. God bless you!!

@stella12-hue @RagdollyAnnas https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/google-meet-grid-view-fix/dakebdbeofhmlnmjlmhjdmmjmfohiicn This is just a temporary workaround (which looses the pinning feature) [credits: @ma2shita], in order to allow people who heavily rely on the extension (e.g., online exams) to continue their work. The extension will be removed as soon as Chris is able to properly fix the issue. Just temporary disable the problematic extension and activate this one.

mattgyver-it commented 4 years ago

Hopefully it's worked on. I won't be able to get my teachers to all understand what they need to do to get the extension working.

stella12-hue commented 4 years ago

@thor84no @icysapphire @jdd-canada is the temporary fix still working for you?

icysapphire commented 4 years ago

@stella12-hue Yes, it is. Just make sure you have the latest version v1.39 of the fix extension.

MarcyWilliams commented 4 years ago

Grid view only shows myself. I'm having trouble figuring out how to download the script. I downloaded the other extension that says fix, but I'm still having the same problem.

sjenkins20 commented 3 years ago

I've been having this issue since Jan 2021.
