As Simon pointed out in retro, #71 is not a great issue really, because it’s sort of an umbrella issue for a bunch of other things.

I think it’s totally reasonable to say that the schema changes in this PR fix it, and then we pick off the sub-issues (#62 etc) in future PRs.
