App crashes upon open #337

Describe the bug Ara crashes almost immediately upon opening. It manages to request permissions and open the login page before crashing.

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Open the app
  2. It crashes

Expected behavior I expected it to, you know, launch the app...

Hey @Serpent27 - thanks for reporting - I belive this is a bug isolated to android 8 and 9 it will be fixed in an update in 2ish weeks. for now please manually grant calendar permissions to ara. if tat does not fix it I'll have to get to my desktop, spin up an emulator and track it down.

Manually granting the permission seems to have worked. In the meantime I'm leaving this issue open awaiting the official fix.

The issue has reappeared. I have sent a bug report via Google Play... It seems manually granting permission no longer fixes the issue.

After further analysis the issue seems to not be permissions at all... Ara works when I use my VPN but not without it. I expect this is because my tablet's internet connection uses an HTTP proxy that Ara doesn't acknowledge.
