Bug Report: Cutscene volume is much lower than gameplay volume #2410

Please check for duplicates or similar issues, as well performing simple troubleshooting steps (such as clearing cookies, clearing AppData, trying another browser) before submitting an issue.

What version of the game are you using? Look in the bottom left corner of the main menu. (ex: 0.2.7, 0.2.1, shit like that)

Have you identified any steps to reproduce the bug? If so, please describe them below in as much detail as possible. Use images if possible.

  1. Set your game volume to the lowest possible bar with the in game volume control.
  2. Start Week 7 or Weekend 1 from the Story Mode menu.
  3. Observe the difference in cutscene volume and gameplay volume.

The video cutscenes' volume is much lower than the gameplay's volume. To reproduce this bug please watch the video linked below or read the information above..

If you're game is FROZEN and you're playing a web version, press F12 to open up browser dev window, and go to console, and copy-paste whatever red error you're getting

I think the main issue with this is that the cutscene volume and gameplay volume are not tied together with the in-game volume slider. If you have the in-game volume at max (which you change with the + and - keys on the keyboard) it sounds fine, but when you turn it down, the cutscene volume is lowered much more than the gameplay volume causing it to be unbalanced. The temporary fix for this is to make sure you have the in-game volume at max, and if you want to lower the volume, lower your system volume instead of the in-game volume.

The cutscene volume still changes with the in-game volume slider it's just that it scales differently to the gameplay volume

Tested the Ugh cutscene on three different volumes on 0.5.3 and the audio levels are no longer drastically different:
