I was playing Spookeez Erect, forgot the intro bit, missed immediately and then restarted. I got a cop of the characters in freezeframe in their light variants loaded behind the regular ones, so i recorded it:
I found that this happens whenever you pause and restart right after a flash of lightning, I assume the light variant of the character is never fully removed like it's supposed to be because the game is paused, as you can also see that the lighting effect continues it's fadeout when paused when you would assume that the effect would also puase. Further testing shows that this happens when you die as well, and can stack, always keeping whatever frame of animation all the characters were on when you paused or died. The only way to remove them is to leave and reenter the song.
Steps to reproduce (or crash logs, errors, etc.)
Go into any song with the lighting flash to brighten the characters gimmick
Pause or die right after a lighting flash
Upon restarting you'll see the stacked freezeframes
