Cannot re-enable GameDVR IF a debloat tool changed the registry #8

Hi

I used BloatyNosy "debloat" tool, and it did disable GameDVR. I used their revert settings function, but GameDVR wouldn't work.

I then used your tool, untick and re-tick and restart, but it still wouldn't work.

I had to manually change the registry key AllowGameDVR to 1 in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\GameDVR for it to work again.

(What I mean by doesn't work, is that it wouldn't remember a game as being a game in the GameBar settings. And SpecialK would also tell it's off)

IMHO, your tool should either delete that key, or set it to 1/0 depending on if you enable or not the first setting in your tool.

So it would "bypass" shitty debloaters or optimizer, and be 100% sure you tool actually change GameDVR state You could also specifically set the related group policies

I haven't updated the tool for 7 years, wasn't even sure if it's still working... I may play around with it a bit. If it's still working on the latest windows 10 I may update it with your suggestion

not 100% sure it still works, but I know people on SpecialK discord server still use it

I don't really want to mess with my win install tbh as I already struggled to re-active GameDVR
