ore excavation isnt working for patch 1.16.5 #53

I have no idea what is happening. it was working for my first world then I made a new one and tapped the edit shape button now it doesn't work. the default button for selecting the shapes is V on mine yet when I select the one I made it isn't working. it only mines one block. if you are about to ask if excavate is on yes I have it on. if you can help me resolve this issue for this patch may be others with the same problem could fix it.
