Audio stops working random 10.8.3 #193

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. It does this automatically after a few minutes...
2. I am running my audio through hdmi on a hackintosh

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I use soundflower to control the HDMI volume on my hackintosh (so I don't have
to use the TV remote...). It randomly stops letting me control, but if I click
on the menu icon, select a different audio option, and reselect HDMI it works
again... any ideas for a fix?

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
v1.6.6 on Mountain Lion 10.8.3

I have a similar issue with mac os 10.8.4 (also a hackintosh).
I find connecting and disconnecting my speakers from the audio jack restores
audio.

Have the same problem with displayport audio.

Works well with built-in output.
