[Suggestion]: More than just E-Waste Scrapping #80

What is your Suggestion?

I'm not sure if you are planning this or not, but figured I'd say this. I'd love to see the ability to scrap items that aren't e-waste. Like tires, piping, wall studs, engines, mufflers, motors, sinks, light fixtures, etc.

How will this suggestion fit into the Scope of Scrapping Simulator?

It would add a different area of scrap and may allow for an industrial area in the final map where maybe you can digging through items in open top dumpsters or something like that. Give people more access to metals and it fills the area of scrapping outside of E-Waste.

How would the Game and Community benefit from this suggestion?

Like I said, it would add more items into the game which having diversity of items I don't think would be a bad thing. I have currently played about 8 hours of the game and its fun but there needs to be more diversity of stuff. I know you have made a point of saying its coming but bigger stuff is harder to do, so I thought some of this stuff would be smaller item and wouldn't have that many components to them.

Hi there @Bestywolf, thank you for your great suggestion.

I like the idea of scavenging industrial bins for items, especially chunky Insulated Copper Wire 😃

The idea is certainly to capture the experience of a real life Scrapper (I personally gather most of my inspiration from 'eWaste Ben' on YouTube) where he patrols areas in his city and gathers primarily E-Waste, but sometimes finds Brass Fittings, Stainless Steel, Gets calls to do pickups from Businesses/Schools/Homes etc.

There are a few things holding me back at the moment from expanding the current Disassembly Diversity, primarily the Core Foundation of the Disassembly Objects both with Optimization and Future Proofing. Such as things like working out some sort of wiring system for Copper Wire, Tool Positioning while disassembling and some Script work to make adding future objects less time consuming

I am slowly working toward removing all the 'Jank' out of the old systems 😅

Once that is sorted out there will certainly be more range of objects to disassemble being added 🙂

But I could certainly add more variety of the Instant Scrap objects that could resemble Brass/Copper fittings, taps, tubes etc in the very near future 🙂

I may even create a seperate Spawning Method for 'not E-Waste, but also not Junk' objects so that amoungst the E-Waste around Bins you may find, like you suggested a Brass Tap, or some Brass/Copper Tubing, Sink etc, which would be pretty cool I think 🙂👍
