Thank you very much for your very detailed bug report. This behavior is already known to us and we are working to fix this bug. Currently, according to our test, there is a workaround that fixes the problem in most cases. For this you have to set the option 'Leave open in Background' in the settings to 'disabled'. This causes SnipAway to open only one instance in the background and close it directly. Maybe this workaround will help you, too.
We are working on the bug and will provide a fix with a software update.

The app is preventing the mac from being turned off.
Steps to reproduce the bug
Expected behavior
I would expect the Mac to turn off all the applications and then shut down, instead, I have to first open the app window (I have it mostly minimised), then click on the menu and close it manually before I can turn of the Mac.
