[Bug]: book shelves wont work

when i place the bookshelf next to the enchanting infuser, the enchanting infuser wont say, that there are more then 0 bookshelf next to it . Also when i place a bookshelf it wont go away from my inventory it just reappears.

Are you playing on a server? And what other mods do you have installed that might be messing with bookshelves?

The fact that the placed bookshelves aren't used up from your inventory is weird. But I'm not changing anything with bookshelves at all, so that must be something else.

Hello! I also have the same problem.

The only mods that mess with bookshelves in my server just add more types of bookshelves (Blue Skies, Biomes Youll Go, Twilight Forest, Quark), but It's weird because I'm using the normal oak bookshelves.

Do any of the other bookshelves work? And are you on 1.18 or 1.19?

Also can you please test just my mod alone and see if that works? And if it does, add in your other mods one after one to find a possible conflict.

what is happening is that it is that version of minecraft the libraries are bugged and I tried with another type of libraries from the mod and when I try to create them I get the normal ones from minecraft so if you want them to work you would have to get some libraries from other material that is not from the vanilla minecraft like the blue skies or the biomes mod of the creative to be able to use the full potential of the advanced enchantment table.

Okay, I was doing some testing and the mods are fine, for some reason that particular type of bookshelf I'm using doesn't work, but works with any other type of bookshelf from the mods. I'm on 1.19.2

Can you find out what mod is responsible for changing the vanilla bookshelf? Would be great to know so I can look into it.

Well, I don't think It's one of the mods I mentioned, I tested those mods alone and all the bookshelves work, must be another mod, but I can't tell wich one, because I have a lot. Also in the main server, when I place an oak bookshelf that I crafted, the Infuser still doesn't detect it, but if I break it with my hand it gives me books and the bookshelf reapears in my hand. Basically free books.

In the first image, the oak bookshelf placed and the one in my hand are supposed to be the same one, since I only crafted one and in the last image the bookshelf reapeared when I right-clicked the infuser (you can also see the enchanting power 14, ignoring the oak bookshelf).

Can you still do a binary search to find the mod messing with bookshelves? Just remove half after half until bookshelves work normally, this is a rather quick way even with many mods. Would be great, cuz without knowing the other mod I can't do anything about it.

Hey, I have quiet the same issue on the direwolf20 motpack on 1.19.2 . I cna only get to Enchanting power 15 with oak book schelfs. I think Apotheosis is the issue. The mod ads Enchanting stats for the shelfs and the normal shelfs only hav "Eterna: +1.00" But with "Blazing Hellshelf (Eterna +4.00)" and "Draconic Endshelf (Eterna: +5.00)" i can get the Advanced Enchanting enfuser to max power. I hope this helps you to fix the problem.

This is intentional, when Apotheosis is installed you need to use those bookshelves for higher enchanting power levels.

Also closing this now since this is very likely another mod messing with vanilla bookshelves.
