I changed it to a crafting recipe. Still need to update the mod page.
Looking over the project repo it looks like these recipes were added for 1.20.4, and if I look into the 20.4.3 package we can see them: However, the 1.20.1 package does not contain these, instead it has the smithing templates: I'll assume that it should be possible to fix the missing recipes by using the 1.20.4 recipes, but they aren't present in the 1.20.1 release.
The crafting recipes work on both 1.20.1 and 1.20.4.
They don't. That's the bug report.
I'm really not sure what's going on then, everything is working perfectly fine for me with the exact same setup on 1.20.1.
This bug is occurring for me on mod version 8.0.2, Minecraft 1.20.1, with only Metal Bundles and its dependencies, no other mods. Recipe appears in the vanilla recipe book but when you attempt to actually craft the item, you get this. When tested with it enabled, EMI does not detect the crafting recipe. Replicated on Quilt 0.26.0, Quilt 0.26.1-beta1 and Fabric 0.15.11. I did spot PuzzlesLib causing an error in my latest.log but may not be related.
I think it's better to have them as smithing recipes as opposed to crafting recipes
I have come here to say that the recipe is not compatible with vanilla bundles, which may be the cause of your issue. You must craft a bundle from this mod for it to work, hopefully vanilla bundles will be compatible soon though. It took me a bit to put that together.

Notes (Required)
There are no recipes to upgrade the bundles on the smithing table, and EMI seems to confirm this as there aren't any listed. I didn't go so far as to test this on forge and see if perhaps it's a fabric only issue, but even with a minimal install, no bundle recipes exist. latest.log
