These ligatures would be desirable. Unlike in the fl ligature, the crossbar of the f should probably not join to the stem of then next letter; the only join should be at the top.

If possible, these should be disabled for the German language, as they would always cross morpheme boundaries. (Laufband, Kaufhaus, Aufkleber) According to normal German typesetting rules no ligature should be used. (This also applies to other ligatures in some cases, like fl in Auflage, but because fl can also occur within a morpheme, it’s impossible to make a sweeping rule against them and such cases usually have to be handled one-by-one by the typesetter; whereas these three can only occur in places where no ligature is allowed.)

EB Garamond, for example, disables these ligatures by default for German.
