This happens sporadically and we presume is due to the API being unavailable/changed (there are no useful diagnostics). It seems we need to remind you of the CRAN policy:

'Packages which use Internet resources should fail gracefully with an informative message if the resource is not available (and not give a check warning nor error).'

and we need an update whether or not this starts working again.
