Media Files -> Open with Gallery: not usable, no ui/navigation #232

hello beautiful people, yesterday i flashed chromiumos_image_r102-r2-rpi4b.

when i open media files with media-app (Gallery) i can't use this app. app is not executing right. css and js is not displaying content correct for e.g. mp3 files or image files.

chrome-untrusted://media-app/app.html -> iframe sound is playing w/out navigation ui. image is not scaled and w/out navigation ui. media app is not usable, imho. i know how to send an issue to e.g. crbug/996088, but in this case i am not sure, if crbug is the right place to discuss.

moreover sound over hdmi is not stable. sometimes it loops last sound frames and then sound is not playing. when i switched to bluetooth and then back to hdmi sometimes it works again.

  1. The gallery app can't be used: the vanilla gallery app on chromiumOS is like this, the chromeOS's gallery app is different from the chromiumOS, even though their names are the same. And I suggest you try the FydeOS for rpi4 to get the better experience. https://fydeos.io/download/device/rpi4-fydeos
  2. The Raspberry Pi is not officially supported by chromiumOS, there is no update channel available, and neither is the dev channel.
  3. No buildin google repository's public keyring: yes, just add [trusted=yes]
  4. For the HDMI sound playback problem: I don't think it's a common problem, there is no advice I can give you.
