Software updates

these could be notified through the above admin screen both at startup and possibly through an "admin" packet?
updates should be stored in a repo with versioning to allow someone to roll back to a previously supported version (should there be a problem)

Maybe a public repo and git for this and automated via admin. Just a folder with the lastest bin and the last few. Then the update process is just a git pull and check for the latest. And that means people can pick a stable or unstable (dev) branch to get firmware for. Simply an unpack/reload script.
