Hi, are you making manual text edits to the descriptions, or copy/pasting from elsewhere? Can you post a few screenshots?
Thanks. When I make manual text edits to the description on Google Calendar.
New event not yet made on the calendar - "Test 2" at 10 AM on 1/29/2022
Creating a new calendar event "Test 2" at 10 AM on 1/29/2022 (Please also note the first row "test 1" with HTML in the description cell.)
Quick update performed. Result on Calendar is the new event.
Here is the spreadsheet after the Quick update:
Now I am editing the calendar event description. I have added, "I have added this."
Quick import is performed on the spreadsheet. It has imported the new addition successfully.
Now I am editing the calendar event description a second time. I have added, "I have added this - second time"
Quick import is performed again on the spreadsheet. This time, it has converted the text in the spreadsheet description cell to HTML
I hope this is helpful. Many thanks for all of your assistance! Andrew
I'll do some tests and get back to you - Sheets2GCal imports the raw data from Google Calendar, so this means that somehow when you are editing the calendar description Google Calendar is adding the HTML. You could test this if you have iOS with Apple's calender app which also imports raw calendar data for descriptions. If you select the description text in Google Calendar and click the "remove formatting" button (crossed out 'T'), save and then Quick Import to Sheets2GCal, does it still show HTML tags?
Sorry, I don't have i)S with Apple calendar app.
However, I highlighted and clicked the crossed out "T" as follows:
I performed a Quick Import in the spreadsheet for the two entries with HTML... and this is the result...
It worked! I will make it a point to remove the formatting when I make updates in Google Calendar and it appears that this should fix the issue.
I really appreciate your help! Many thanks!
I'm glad that workaround helps - I've reported this as I can reproduce it using only Google Calendar and the API Explorer, so it does seem to be a Google Calendar bug. I'll update here when I hear back from them. Thank you for pointing it out!
Many thanks.

On the initial calendar import, it appears that the description information syncs correctly. However, if I make changes to the description on the calendar. Future updates show up as HTML on the calendar sheet description column for those entries.
If changes to the description are made in the sheet, all is well and continues to sync nicely.
Many thanks for your assistance. AD
