Disconnect and switch between 2 sheet2gcal profiles #27

Open tozirom opened 11 months ago

Hello,

I use two Google accounts to work. A personal account and a pro account. I have created two profiles on sheets2gcal, for these two accounts. When I switch from one to the other Google account, the switch is not made on the shets2gcal accounts. How can I easily disconnect or switch from one to the other without being locked into a sheets2gcal account? Thanks

Hi, there's a bug with Google's add-on system that causes Sheets2Gcal (and any other Sheets add-on) to use the default Chrome browser account even though the add-on is trying to use a different account: https://issuetracker.google.com/issues/69270374.

Unfortunately this problem has existed for several years and doesn't seem to be very high priority... Meanwhile, the best workaround I've found is to create a separate browser profile for each Google account you use with Sheets2Gcal. You can do this in the Chrome Menu > Profiles, and it's then very easy to switch between accounts without confusing Sheets2GCal.

I hope this helps - if not please let me know if I misunderstood the problem you are facing.

Thank you for your reply.

By using private browsing mode, I was able to access and use the second Sheets2gcal account. It's a cumbersome way of accessing it, but if it's the only solution I'm going to use it, fortunately I don't switch every five minutes, I only use it once or twice a week.

Thanks again

Sincerely

Private browsing mode ("Incognito") will work too, but it's not as convenient as using separate Chrome profiles because it's easier to switch between profiles and you don't have to log in again each time.

I apologise for the inconvenience but sadly there nothing I can do about it - except encourage people to "star" that issue in the hope that Google sorts it out.

Hello,

I've found another solution, usually using Firefox (on which my connection problems were occurring), I use Chrome for the second account, and that way there are no more conflicts. And in fact it's simpler than private mode. Thanks again for your help and for your plugin. And I “star” twice, two account, two star. ;-) Sincerely
