Concept for a Village NPC; Gives rewards for relics
Lore Concept: Lost all senses during the event that turned the old city into the Dungeons, but kept their humanity. Communicates through writing or a form of telepathy, and can sense when relics are nearby due to connection to the dungeons.
I've assigned myself to this task- Elia Zuerlein
Village Church Concept
Notes: -Entrance to Dungeon potentially connected to Church? -Heavy connection with death and the senses -Possibly an NPC outside who gives you back lost items? -Village possibly uses starker, red-tinted colors to contrast the cool colors of the dungeon
Here's a reference for what the village scene will be like as an example from darkest dungeon
essentially designs goal is to have a static image of our village, with different NPC's at each building to then be able to point and click to talk to. For future concept reference.

Putting the idea here so there is a record of it, still workshopping it though. I thought it would be more interesting to have the crypt keeper be a fancy eccentric women as opposed to a man. I'll workshop a bit to give her more design links to the clergy.
As opposed to her appear old it can be hinted with her dialogue. I want to make her design white and feathery (maybe angel-like or bird-like) Just thought it would be a more fun take
i like this concept actually, i agree about the clergy/necromancy thing there's obviously tweaking that needs to be done but it would be cool to make her a weird wacky woman
My Crypt Keeper concept (inspired by other person's concept)
Some notes: -mourner motif (dark clothes, veil, etc) -most of face obscured; implies a sense of ethereality -spider lily clip on veil as a motif of death and revival (fits with red color pallet of the overworld and the theme of them resurrecting the PC when they die)
FYI I don't think we're going to be able to finalize designs for specific NPCs until the end of S2 (especially since writing won't be finishing their concepts for them until S2 too), and in particular with the crypt keeper we should definitely keep in mind how we are going to approach designs for the other NPCs i.e. the clergy before adding any super specific details.

This is really cool! we can definitely combine some of the ideas from this with the other village layout concept we have, I especially like the church looming in the distance. however it's important to keep in mind that we only have one screen for the village GUI and so everything that can be interacted with by the player needs to be a physical icon they can select (i.e. the mayor's house shouldn't be off screen unless there is something else present in the composition that represents him)

Notes: -Lots of protective symbols in design -Probably gonna redesign (and more fully design), but expression is both fearful and accusatory when talking to PC -Standing beside fountain/statue in middle of village
