We are working with a beam of a small diameter, making this into a strong electromagnet is going to be very difficult, especially given how far out the wiring has to go. Standard "DIY" electromagnets consist of ferrous material wrapped with a wire to generate an electromagnetic field, but these are not very powerful and would involve wiring that is able to spin without twisting (link to separate issue).

Utilized double, triple, and quadruple wraps of copper wire. As it stands, the electromagnet pulls with nearly 3.5 N of force. To test if this is sufficient, further analysis of forces needs to be performed.

Force analysis and experimental test show sufficient strength at low speeds with gradual acceleration, yet to be tested at max speeds but current results are promising.
