Switch from UK version of frailty score to recently developed CIHI version. The following changes are required:
Employ CIHI list of frailty conditions based on ICD-10-CA codes (create a mapping file for ~600 diagnosis codes)
Change from weighted score to simple count of conditions
Add appropriate age cut-off within function (set frailty to NA if age < 65)
Derive continuous score (but in documentation suggest users to categorize according to reference as needed)
Add warning messages: Mention age cut-off & that calculation is done on encounter level (no 2-year lookback period as in official CIHI score) & if ERDIAG is not specified.
Update function documentation to reflect changes
This new version of frailty score will be released with the next version of Rgemini. The previous (UK) version of the score will not be maintained moving forward.
