BIAB should consider exposing it's own STAC Catalogue (for outputs as well as inputs) #112

I think this is already in your vision (e.g. commit message ) but I think it's a great idea. As you know, stac's modular design makes it easy for a catalog to index content that is resolved from a range of different hosts and different existing STAC catalogs like planetary computer. (e.g. here's a simple example with different biodiversity data resources we are currently using)

Thank you for your comment. We have already built our own STAC catalog for pipeline inputs and are definitely thinking of using this approach for pipeline outputs as well.

@glaroc Very cool! It's this one, yes? https://radiantearth.github.io/stac-browser/#/external/io.biodiversite-quebec.ca/stac/?.language=en

(I'm just here at Geo Bon and catching up with the amazing stuff here). Having such a catalog for outputs would be really great. Curious for your thoughts on hosting the output products. Have you considered using https://source.coop for this?

glaroc commented 11 months ago

Yes, that's it. We'll have to coordinate with the EBV portal for hosting output products. I'll look into source.coop, I wasn't aware of it. Thanks.

This issue create by @glaroc yesterday is about the "inputs" part: https://github.com/GEO-BON/bon-in-a-box-pipelines/issues/130
