do we know why this has happened so we can stop it in the future? (google chrome)

gingerhitch commented 7 years ago

Dennis - can you fix this before you go?

dbauszus-glx commented 7 years ago

Is this still happening?? I thought this would have been fixed ages ago.

just cleared my history and still happening - i only added it 9 days ago so its a recent thing

I cannot reproduce this. Kerst can you test this for me? Sarah, can you give us a full screenshot with the browser bar. My feeling is that there is some setting or third party plugin which might become clear if we see all.

any better?

dbauszus-glx commented 7 years ago

Should be fixed now. Due to my massive screen I was looking at the wrong size range.

gingerhitch commented 7 years ago

Not fixed, unless i need to clear history

Did you do a proper reload (shift + F5 key)? That will force the browser to reload the page and not fetch an old version from the browser cache.

gingerhitch commented 7 years ago

all fixed - but for customers who don't do this, will it always show like that - I know not a massive issue given our traffic volumes!

dbauszus-glx commented 7 years ago

That depends on the browser. Some reload every day, some less often. It also depends on the connection. If you have a bad connection the browser is more likely to use the cache instead of requesting stuff through the pipe. It also depends on the device and the location. People who visit the blog for the first time will obviously not have this problem since they will already load the current style definitions. On our website I can force the reload from source, but on the blog, using a php/wordpress backend this is not easily possible since there are some cookies over which we have no control.
