Quite a number of times I have observed that the total cost of ownership is a nice way to structure the discussions around pros and cons for different software stacks. So I would like to propose to include it here to make clear that often you can use it to roughly estimate:
Cost of licences
Cost of internal devs / external devs
Cost of internal administration
Cost of hardware /maintenance
This allows you then to compare different scenarios in a way that also speaks to non-tech people...
