GFDRR / rdl-standard

The Risk Data Library Standard (RDLS) is an open data standard to make it easier to work with disaster and climate risk data. It provides a common description of the data used and produced in risk assessments, including hazard, exposure, vulnerability, and modelled loss, or impact, data.

[DATA] Critical infrastructure VULNERABILITY #276

If you are proposing a dataset to be added to the RDL collection on DDH&q=&sort=last_updated_date%20desc).

Dataset issue

We already added the Global infrastructure exposure layer. We want to add related Vulnerability functions. Problem is, the dataset is an excel with different tabs for each hazard type, thus it includes floods, earthquake, winfstorms and landslide. Thus it is not compatible with VLN schema which requires one hazard type at time. The most obvious solution would be to split it by hazard type, and re-upload it on our host (DDH) after authors' authorization.

I think best practice is to point to the original file so unless they accept to split by hazard and conform to RDLS, I would just add different VLN metadata for different hazards and point to the same resource.

Author (Sadhana) already approved the plan to split the dataset. Final release expected in some 2 months time.
