Hi Christoph,
Something like 25€ without shipping seems reasonable ? But I don't have the plugs that connects to the Memo Mouse, so it would only have the wires, and you would have to find some suitable connection method. Not sure what else could be used. 2mm banana plugs are a bit too large I think.
Benjamin
Dear Benjamin,
Yes, I think that is acceptable. From where would it be shipped? I could just stick in the blank cable ends into the little plugs, or not?
Thanks and regards, Christoph

Great! Shipping from France.
You could just use the bare wires I guess, but it might be tedious to do everything while holding the wires connected. 3 hands would be nice to have ;-) Otherwise, maybe using some brass nails, adjusted (a small taper) for a slight tight fit in the plugs? It's basically what the originals are, but fancier :-P I don't have those unfortunately.
Also, if you don't mind waiting a bit, I would be able to test the MemoAladin in the first week of June, which I would prefer doing to be be sure it's working.
Cheers, Benjamin
Sounds very good, all. Actually, I was in contact with Scubapro in Hongkong, I know the CEO from some time ago. But they are not much interested, however, the CEO said to read the memory you need to connect to Windows 97....., but he was not sure. For them this computer is old history, not much of an emotional connection to the past as with Europeans in Asia... I stopped bothering them, and found your contact. I have Windows 10, that should do the job?
No issue waiting, this Aladin was in the „tiroir“ for 15 years. I handle this case for a friend who happens to be French...
Kind regards, Christoph

Great, I'll work on it then. Yeah no surprise that they do not show interest, it's just too old. It would be nice if they could release some info on the protocol and such, to fill the gaps after the great job of Wayne Heming who figured out the protocol.
My father uses Windows 7 and it works (maybe using compatibility mode), so I guess W10 should be ok. If you can launch DataTrack you should be good, even better if your PC has a COM port (native or USB) that shows up in DataTrack. DataTrack was in a floppy disk, for W97 or 98 indeed, so thanks Windows for being so backward compatible!
Nice, I hope he can "revive" his Aladin then :) He (or you ;) ) may have to change the battery, I had to do that a few years ago.
Cheers, Benjamin
Hello Benjamin,
Sorry for the late reply. I doubt Scubapro HK can help you with any deep data, after all they were/are just the dealer for Uwatec on a high level of Service, as they Cover the Asia-Pacific Region for Uwatec as exclusive dealer. Anyway, presently I can‘t get hold of Bertrand, the owner, until Tuesday. There is a chance, his mother could bring it with her (and send it to you), as she is traveling back to France end of this month. Before getting to any conclusions over your head, I will discuss options with him and get back to you. Of course, any support from your part will need to be paid. I will get back to you in a couple of days.
Cheers, Christoph

Hello Christoph,
You're right, I confused them somehow with the actual manufacturer of the mouse.
Ok, I'll wait for you then. Note that I don't necessarily need to get hold of his Aladin mouse, if he has the same model my father has, I can test the circuit on his and it should work fine (Aladin Pro I think). But we can arrange something otherwise, for sure :)
Cheers, Benjamin
Dear Benjamin,
I have talked to Bertrand, he is in cc.
He will contact you directly.
Maybe you carry on with your private e-mail address?
Thank you for following up.
Kind regards,
Christoph
Hi Christoph,
Sure, we'll continue in private. Github doesn't carry CC's across in email responses, so I'll send you an email.
Cheers, Benjamin
hi Benjamin,
what would be your price for a ready-to-use Aladin interface?
