Error running tutorial - The 2018 European heat wave #180

Closed leahpope closed 3 years ago

leahpope commented 3 years ago

Describe the bug While running through tutorial, I could not run WRF after running WPS and running real.

GIS4WRF In the part of the tutorial that says : Now you are good to go, run Real and WRF (1). At the end of each program you will receive the following prompt from Real (2) and WRF (3).

Expected behavior I expected it to run without errors

I cannot reproduce the error at my end but from the output you have attached it looks like you are not running the same case as descibed at https://gis4wrf.github.io/tutorials/gis4wrf/simulate-the-2018-european-heat-wave-with-gis4wrf/ -- could you double check this please? With regards to setting the extent, I have not seen this before but I would recommend to upgrade first to the latest version of QGIS (3.14) first

Hi,

Regarding the tutorial, I am following it step by step. I can show you the same screenshots of the tutorial it shows. Except for the run of WRF and to set to map extent, everything else was running the same. I made a new folder and tried again and got the same error. So that you can see it is the same tutorial I will take the same screenshots as in the tutorial . They are shown below.

I cannot see those screenshots. Can you zip and attach namelist.input in 2018_07_15_Amsterdam\run_wrf?

oh. you mean reply in github and not email. Those files are not supported to drag so I will copy-paste below . it is the same one from the tutorial. I'd be happy to share the whole file ( the one with the google link shared earlier ) to an email so that you can see the whole project.

That's why I suggested to zip it as zip is allowed. OK it looks like there is no difference as you suggested. Could you please zip and attach wrf.exe please? You will find this in gis4wrf\dist\WRF-4.0-nompi\main

leahpope commented 3 years ago

wrf.zip

dmey commented 3 years ago

OK thanks -- I don't see anything strange with that. It may be just easier if you just send me the whole folder. Can you compress and attach 2018_07_15_Amsterdam\run_wrf here -- It should be ~ 30 MB compressed.

leahpope commented 3 years ago

It is 38 MB but GitHub says that my limit is 10 mb.

I have attached it through google: 2018_07_15_Amsterdam.zip https://drive.google.com/file/d/1dkcvqz2GChw61oRHr7RJBEdAur6hBRiO/view?usp=drive_web

dmey commented 3 years ago

Please can you set the share permission to "Anyone" so that I can access it

dmey commented 3 years ago

Just checking if you been able to solve the issue?
