I am happt to see that the outlines I generated during my postdoc stay at UNBC (https://doi.org/10.1016/j.rse.2009.08.015) are still planned to be used for RGI7.0.
I certainly agree that thes outlines are of good quality, but I know also some issues. Most important is that I (1) missed some debris-covered parts (I used lower resolution Landsat and high resolution data was rare at that time) and (2) some ice divides/seperation of glaciers need improvements (due to some geolocation issues but also issues with the utilised DEM which is based on aerial images, also illustrated in my paper).
See e.g.
Not sure whether these issues are deemed to be important enough for this verison, but I suggest to check in particular for missed debris covered parts. Will check whether there a updated outlines available.
I've added this to the "7.1" Milestone, so that it won't be a blocker for release, but if some progress can be done before the freeze for 7.0 I'm happy to incorporate as well.
